Terms of Service

Last updated: April 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Atlas Hockey platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not access or use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Atlas Hockey ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Atlas Hockey is a youth hockey player development platform that enables coaches, organizations, and parents to track player progress, conduct skill assessments using our proprietary 8-dimension framework, create personalized training plans, and access a curated library of hockey drills and development resources.

3. Account Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent. Parents may create accounts and player profiles on behalf of children under 13 in accordance with our COPPA compliance procedures described in our COPPA Notice. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for: (a) maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials; (b) all activity that occurs under your account; (c) providing accurate, current, and complete information; and (d) notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. You agree not to misrepresent your identity, role, or organizational affiliation.

5. Subscription and Billing

Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time. Refunds for exceptional circumstances are handled on a case-by-case basis.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All Platform content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to our 8-dimension player assessment framework, skill rubrics, scoring methodologies, benchmark standards, curated drill library, drill descriptions and instructions, ice diagram assets, training plan templates, coaching notes formats, software, design, text, graphics, and documentation — are the exclusive intellectual property of Atlas Hockey and are protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose (personal player development tracking). No other rights are granted.

User-generated content (your own assessments, custom notes, custom training plans, and custom diagrams) remains your property. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, host, display, and process that content solely to provide you with the Service.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to, and not to permit others to:

  • Scrape or harvest data: Use any automated means, robot, spider, crawler, scraper, or other automated device or process to access, copy, index, or collect any content from the Platform.
  • Reproduce proprietary content: Copy, reproduce, republish, download, transmit, or distribute the drill library, assessment rubrics, scoring frameworks, or any other Platform content for any commercial purpose without prior written consent from Atlas Hockey.
  • Create competing products: Use the Platform's content, data, methodologies, or features — in whole or in part — to build, train, or improve any product or service that competes with Atlas Hockey, including but not limited to player assessment tools, hockey development platforms, or coaching management software.
  • Reverse engineer: Decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying ideas of any part of the Platform.
  • Circumvent access controls: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Platform, its infrastructure, or any related systems.
  • Misuse data: Resell, transfer, license, or otherwise exploit Platform content or user data for commercial purposes not expressly authorized by these Terms.
  • Violate laws: Use the Platform in any manner that violates applicable local, provincial, national, or international law or regulation.

8. Platform Data and Analytics Licence

By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that Atlas Hockey may collect, process, and use anonymized, de-identified, and aggregated data derived from platform usage and assessments ("Aggregate Data") for the following purposes:

  • Improving and developing Platform features and assessment methodologies
  • Establishing and publishing anonymized benchmark standards for youth hockey development
  • Conducting internal research and analysis to improve coaching and player outcomes
  • Preparing aggregated statistical reports and insights that do not identify any individual

Aggregate Data will never include personally identifiable information. No individual player, coach, or organization will be identifiable in any published research, report, or benchmark data. This licence survives termination of your account with respect to data collected before termination.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service and do not sell personal information to third parties.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Atlas Hockey does not provide medical, athletic training, or professional sports advice. Assessment results are tools for development tracking, not professional athletic evaluations.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Atlas Hockey shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform. Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Platform in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Atlas Hockey and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law; or (d) any content you submit to the Platform.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to the Platform, its users, or Atlas Hockey. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. You may request a copy of your data before account closure.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta, Canada. If you are using the Platform outside Canada, you are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. The current version of these Terms will always be available at atlashockey.ca/terms.
